Animator Jacqueline Cousins was born and raised in Chicago. She was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and attended various schools to overcome the disorder. While growing up she learned to express herself with art and at an early age realized that art was what she wanted her career to be. At age 14 she attended a summer program at the Art Institute of Chicago and learned to create self-portraits using chalk, pastels and paint. She pursued many endeavors through high school and college including attending University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) School of Art. She soon got her first art job and began doing freelance art in 2004 after winning a Animation Club contest for character design.
